Flooding is the most common and costly natural hazard throughout the United States. With Spring right around the corner, now is the time to get prepared for the potential flooding that spring and summer rains bring. The City of Fort Pierce is joining the statewide effort to help residents learn about flood risk and the benefits of flood insurance during Florida Flood Awareness Week, March 8-12, 2021. To spread awareness, a different flood-related topic will be featured each day on our Facebook page and NextDoor. You can follow us on Facebook @ftpierce.
The City of Fort Pierce and the Building Department encourages all residents to take steps to minimize personal and financial loss by becoming "FLOOD READY". Become flood-ready by knowing the flood risks that could affect you and take the necessary precautions to protect yourselves, your families, and your property. Prepare for storms that often bring floods by checking or making emergency kits, making plans with family members, getting flood insurance, and protecting your home before the next disaster strikes.
