City of Fort Pierce Redistricting Workshop Recap
The City of Fort Pierce held the first of two Public Input Workshops for Redistricting on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Mr. Kurt Spitzer, the City’s consultant for redistricting and map creator, provided two alternative district maps with as close to equal population as possible that are per City Charter and state statutes. Mr. Spitzer further explained the process it took to create the proposed boundaries and the redistricting requirements that followed the 2020 Census. The City of Fort Pierce will host a 2nd Public Input Workshop in the Fort Pierce Commission Chambers on Tuesday, March 29th at 6:00 PM. The purpose of these workshops is to bring awareness and education of redistricting requirements for the City's consideration that will revise the election boundaries.
The Fort Pierce City Commission is seeking public input to provide any feedback regarding redistricting. If you are not able to attend the next Public Workshop, the City Commission invites anyone to reach out to their district commissioner or contact the City Clerk's Office with comments, questions, or concerns at 772.467.3065
