City of Fort Pierce Hosts 2nd Public Input Workshop for Redistricting, Tuesday, March 29 at 6:00 PM
The City of Fort Pierce recently contracted Kurt Spitzer and Associates to assist with the City’s redistricting requirements following the 2020 Census. Mr. Spitzer has produced two map options for the City’s consideration that will revise the election boundaries in an effort to provide two districts with as close to equal population as possible in accordance with City Charter and state statutes. These maps are available for review on the City’s website at Redistricting 2022 and are on display in the City Hall lobby.
On Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 4:30 PM, in the Fort Pierce Commission Chambers, 100 N. U.S. Highway 1, the City Commission will conduct a public workshop soliciting public input on the proposed revisions.
Additionally, on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 6:00 PM, in the Fort Pierce Commission Chambers, the City Commission will conduct a SECOND PUBLIC WORKSHOP seeking public input.
Mr. Kurt Spitzer, the City’s consultant and creator of the maps, will explain the process that he undertook to create the proposed boundaries and will be available for questions at both meetings.
