St. Lucie County Partners with Community Organizations to Host COVID Booster Events

FORT PIERCE – St. Lucie County’s Public Safety staff is partnering with several community agencies to offer COVID vaccines and boosters at different events in the coming weeks.

In partnership with the HANDS Clinic of St. Lucie County, St. Lucie County Fire District, and Fort Pierce Police Department, St. Lucie County will host two COVID vaccine booster events at the Lincoln Park Community Center, located at 1306 Avenue M, Fort Pierce, on Saturday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. The first event will be a stand-alone event; while the second event will feature other activities as part of an annual Community Health Awareness Day. These events will offer the Pfizer vaccines - both pediatric as well as adult doses. Participants seeking booster shots are reminded to bring their previous vaccination cards.

Additionally, St. Lucie County’s Veterans Services will assist the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) with hosting a COVID booster clinic at the Havert L. Fenn Center, located at 2000 Virginia Ave., in Fort Pierce on Sunday, Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event is designed to provide COVID vaccines and booster shots to area veterans, spouses, caregivers and dependents (18 years and older). Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available.  VAMC is supplying vaccines and transportation to and from this vaccine clinic. Veterans needing transportation should make appointments with their primary doctor at the VAMC in West Palm Beach. Walk-ins are welcome, but veterans need to bring their ID.

St. Lucie County’s Veteran Services staff will be onsite to assist veterans with any questions they may have or provide information they may need about their benefits.

For more information about the Veterans vaccine clinic on Feb. 6 call the VAMC in West Palm Beach at 561-422-8262 or St. Lucie County Veteran Services Division at 772-337-5670.
