City Temporarily Closes Manatee Parking Lot for Firefighter Challenge
The City of Fort Pierce will be closing the Manatee Parking Lot and Boat Ramps from Saturday, October 30th to Sunday, November 7th to host the 2021 World Championship Firefighter Challenge.
The City of Fort Pierce will host the 2021 World Championship Firefighter Challenge in downtown Fort Pierce from Tuesday, November 2nd to Saturday, November 6th, 2021, located in the parking lot of the Manatee Observation & Education Center (480 N. Indian River Dr.). The closure will begin Saturday, October 30th in order to prepare the grounds for the upcoming event.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to park at the City Hall Parking Garage or other free designated areas that do not include Right-of-Way’s, curbs, median, no parking zones such as striped or grassy areas which are prohibited. About the Firefighter Challenge World Championship:
Firefighters from around the world will converge on downtown Fort Pierce, in St. Lucie County, to compete in the Firefighter Challenge World Championship. Spanning over five days, this event will generate an estimated $500,000 of economic impact in St. Lucie County. Play Treasure Coast Sports Tourism, in partnership with the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, St. Lucie County Office of Tourism, the St. Lucie County Fire District, and the City of Fort Pierce worked with On Target to secure the 2021 World Championship scheduled for November 2 - 6, 2021 at the Manatee Observation and Education Center (480 N. Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce, FL 34950). An estimated 200 women and men have earned the right to compete in the Firefighter Challenge World Championship by qualifying from different Regional Sites across the country.
