The City of Fort Pierce is pleased to announce a ribbon-cutting celebration for the Building Department which has relocated to the 3rd floor of the Sunrise Center. The Sunrise Center Building, located directly adjacent to the City Hall Parking Garage, faces Orange Avenue and is located at 300 Orange Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
The Building Department, previously located on the 2nd floor of City Hall, moved into a more modern and contemporary office space consisting of 8,000 square feet which include a bright and spacious lobby, a large conference room, and two educational training rooms suitable for seminars and stakeholder meetings. The Building Department will be able to provide a convenient and more efficient service to the public, including a self-service kiosk to submit documents electronically, with more technological advances to come. Free parking is conveniently located in the same location as the City’s Parking Garage.
"This is really a quantum leap with regard to the services that we can provide for the City." Says Paul Thomas, Building Official. "The new office location will enable the Building Department to successfully expand its services in response to the demands placed upon it by the City's ever-increasing growth."
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021. The number of attendees for the ceremony will be restricted for COVID safety protocols; however, the public is welcome to tour the department prior to the ceremony from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment only.
