[ARCHIVED] Black Pearl Boat Ramp at Fisherman’s Wharf to Close for Reconstruction

Fishermans-Wharf

Beginning Monday, October 19, 2020, the Black Pearl Boat Ramp at Fisherman’s Wharf, located at 600 Indian River Drive near Seaway Drive, will be closed to the public for dock reconstruction and replacement. The boat ramp is anticipated to be closed for 6 to 8 months for the completion of this project.

Through an interlocal agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County, this project will include the demolition of the existing boat ramp and wooden docks and the construction of a new wider boat ramp with a floating accessory dock. The current wooden docks will undergo complete reconstruction and widening as well. In addition, 34 feet of bulkhead and sheet pile wall will be reconstructed adjacent to the ramps for support and enforcement.

About the Project:
The total cost of this by St. Lucie County project is $627,0905.00 provided through matching grants from FWC: (50% match up to $75,000) for the Florida Boating Improvement Program; FDOT: (75% match up to $225,000) from the Seaport Program, and FIND: (50% match up to $397,750) for the Waterways Assistance Program.
