Take part in the largest community cleanup event in the City of Fort Pierce on Saturday, March 7th at the Fort Pierce Recreation Center
Fort Pierce residents and visitors are invited to spend a Saturday morning beautifying the city by volunteering at the Great American Cleanup on Saturday, March 7th from 8:00 AM to noon. This annual event, sponsored by the City of Fort Pierce and Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful, is an opportunity for volunteers to participate in a variety of beautification projects throughout the community.
Participating volunteers will be provided with a free t-shirt, safety supplies and the first 300 volunteers will receive a goody bag. Registration begins at 8:00 AM at Fort Pierce Recreation Center, 903 S 21st St., volunteers will be assigned to a team to tackle various improvement projects. The 2020 project locations include: Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting – Melaleuca Dr. / South Beach Hutchinson Island, C.A. Moore Garden cleanup/planting and painting, Indian Hills Recreation Area cleanup, Graffiti Abatement (citywide) and Painting at Jetty Park. Transportation will be provided to and from all project locations.
The cleanup will conclude with a FREE volunteer BBQ and Festival at Fort Pierce Recreation Center (903 S 21st St). Volunteers will enjoy a free grilled lunch and refreshing drinks provided by the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority. The community festival will also feature a bounce house, jumbo slide, activities, raffle prizes and demonstrations.
Students can earn community service hours for scholarships and graduation by participating in the Great American Cleanup.
