he City of Lights Decorating Contest is designed to encourage the community to decorate and beautify their homes, businesses and neighborhoods during the holiday season. Anyone within city limits is eligible to participate and will be placed on the City of Lights self-guided tour map for everyone to explore and enjoy! The City’s focus is to engage citizens to share in the holiday spirit – whether decorating themselves, nominating a friend or neighbor, or driving around to see the lights, it will be fun for the whole family!
Registration:
Registration is open now until December 12, 2019. Simply fill out the application online at www.LoveFortPierce.com, choose from one of two categories: single family residence or business and submit a photo of your beautifully decorated home or business. Sponsored by Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful, each category winner will receive $250 and a yard sign to display in their yard.
Voting:
Finalists will be selected by the City of Lights team then the community will choose the top contestants in each of the categories by voting online at www.LoveFortPierce.com. Voting will begin December 13th until December 31st. Contestants are encouraged to keep their lights on between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM during the voting period. Voting will also be incorporated into the City of Fort Pierce Facebook page to allow contestants to share their photo for more likes!
Trolley Tours:
To add to the excitement, the City will be hosting the annual festive Trolley Tours to view all the City of Lights finalists. Trolley tours are free and will take place throughout the week of December 15th. Reservations are required by phone, please call (772) 465-4170 to reserve your spot or for more information, visit www.LoveFortPierce.com. A free hot chocolate bar and holiday photo op will enhance the fun and guests are asked to wear Ugly Christmas Sweaters and/or festive attire on the Trolley Tours.
