The City of Fort Pierce is excited to announce Fort Pierce Youth Council (“YOCO”), an advisory board of high school students dedicated to assisting the Mayor and City Commission in solving problems and accomplishing goals on behalf of youth in the community. YOCO is a great opportunity to give youth a voice and a chance to identify and solve community issues from a youth perspective. YOCO members are resources for elected officials to receive advice on issues youth face, especially those decisions that directly affect young people.
YOCO will consist of seven members and will be appointed by the City Commission. Members nominated by the selection committee must be residents of the City of Fort Pierce and be between grades 9th through 12th. Students interested in joining will be accepted through an application process which can be found online at: http://www.cityoffortpierce.com/818/Fort-Pierce-Youth-Council
The Fort Pierce Youth Council will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 3:30 PM at City Hall.
For applications and more information on the program will be made available through www.CityOfFortPierce.com.
