[ARCHIVED] City of Fort Pierce begins Half Cent Initiative

7th street

The City of Fort Pierce recently began revitalization efforts on South 7th Street, between Wendell Road and South 10th Street from the Half Cent Sales Tax Initiative. Thanks to voter support from the November 2018 ballot, the City of Fort Pierce will be tackling several backlogged projects that were featured during the Half Cent campaign, “Better Roads, More Sidewalks and Cleaner Water.”

The City of Fort Pierce is focused on improving the quality of roads, enhancing the water quality and making pedestrian walkways safer for everyone. Residents of S.7th Street can expect more than just a smoother ride to work. The work on S. 7th Street also includes the reconstruction of the roadway complete with underground drainage facilities, curb/gutter, sidewalks, driveway aprons, new sanitary sewer collection system, and underground electric and phone lines. This project is scheduled to conclude in February 2020.
