The City of Fort Pierce is looking extra merry and bright this holiday season! Some homes and businesses, however, stand out above the rest. To help identify these festive abodes, the City of Fort Pierce is running a contest called “City of Lights” to find the best outdoor holiday lights display at a local home, apartment, neighborhood and business.
The City has received over 60 entries for our first annual City of Lights Contest! Isn’t that awesome?! We know that tackling all of the light displays in one night might be too much to handle... So, for your convenience, we created an easy-to-use guide that you can pick up at various locations around town, including City Hall and our Visitors Centers, or you can download online at http://www.lovefortpierce.com/map-contestants/. In the guide, we’ve broken down all of the entries into zones: Downtown, South Beach, Western Fort Pierce and Southern Fort Pierce; so you can visit the lights one zone at a time. Be sure to mark off the lights you’ve seen by checking the box next to the address. In the back of the booklet, there is a place for notes so you can jot down your favorites!
We would love to see all the lights and sights you visit! So, while you’re out exploring, please take pictures and use our hashtag #ChristmasInTheFort on social media to share with your friends.
Finally, once you’re done visiting all of the stops; go online to www.LoveFortPierce.com/voting to select your favorites! You can only vote once, so be sure to view all of the contestants before submitting your vote. Community voting closes on Monday, December 26th. The top 5 in each category will move on to be judged by the Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Advisory Board. Winners will receive $250 and a yard sign which will be announced at the January 3rd City Commission Meeting.
