[ARCHIVED] Zora Neale Hurston Library Offers Spooky Fun For Kids this October

FORT PIERCE – The Zora Neale Hurston Branch Library is celebrating Halloween this October with unique activities for students.

Halloween Crafts is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m., while the Zombie Prom encourages students in grades 6th through 12th to dance in in their best Zombie costume on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m.

Other monthly programs include:

· Game Day on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. gives students the chance to compete on a Nintendo Wii system or have fun with tradition board games.

· Short Circuits on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. is for students 6 to 9, who want to have a great time creating with snap circuits and gears, coding with Ozobots and creating interactive stories and games with Scratch Jr.

Students are also reminded that the Library’s Vote for Books campaign continues through the Presidential Election on Nov. 8. Students can help campaign for their favorite literary character as we learn about the election process, make posters, research our candidates and more.

These programs are free and open to the public – thanks in part to the generous support of the Friends of the Library.

The Zora Neale Hurston Branch of the St. Lucie County Library System is located at 3008 Avenue D, Fort Pierce. For more information about library programs visit: http://library.stlucieco.gov or call 772-462-2154 or email rovitoa@stlucieco.org.
