FPUA Update
As of 9:00AM today, FPUA has restored electric service to 23,282 (97.5%) of the customers that lost electric service after Hurricane Irma. FPUA currently has 492 customers without power.
An electric customer with a damaged meter can/box and/or weatherhead (a pipe above or below meter box) must have these repaired before service can be restored. CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH ANY WIRE! The meter can/box and weatherhead are the responsibility of the property owner. If repairs are needed, a licensed electrician should be called and appropriate permits drawn and inspections made before restoration can be made.
Schools
St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) looks forward to welcoming all students and staff back to school on Monday, September 18th. SLPS will resume normal operations which includes transportation as well as before- and after-school programs and activities. With minimal damage to school facilities, some power outages, and minor debris as a result of Hurricane Irma, the St. Lucie Public Schools team along with community partners have been able to address all of these needs in order to safely re-open our schools.
Trash Collection
Debris collection with begin on Monday, September 18, 2017. Residents with yard waste and storm debris should separate material in two piles along the right of way, not in the road. Please take care not to block access to fire hydrants, mail boxes and utility boxes. Avoid placing debris under low hanging wires.
