  1. City of Fort Pierce Presents “Movies in the Fort,” a Free Outdoor Film Series - Secret Life of Pets, rated PG

    January 25, 2019, All Day @ Maravilla Park

    Hollywood stars debut under Fort Pierce skies this season, as “Movies in the Fort” brings big-screen entertainment to local parks for the very first time. On various Friday nights from January to May, parks in six local neighborhoods will host FREE outdoor movies featuring today’s blockbusters and classic family favorites. Movies in the Fort gives residents in all parts of the city an opportunity to engage with their neighbors and community. Fort Pierce is committed to increasing access to family-friendly cultural opportunities, and this new movie-series is a perfect example of this work. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Patrons are also welcome to bring their own picnic dinner.     Carter has presented workshops as guest conductor, artist, clinician, or adjudicator at Michigan State University, Georgia State University, Western Illinois University, University of Northern Colorado, Iowa State University, University of Kansas, Southern Illinois University, University of Illinois, University of Iowa, Northern Illinois University, Hampton University, Loyola University, Coe College, Augustana College, Vander Cook College of Music, and Georgia State College, and Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. He has performed, conducted and presented clinics at regional, national, and international conferences, and directed all-state jazz bands in Illinois, Indiana, Rhode Island, Missouri, Texas, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Kentucky, Vermont, Arizona, Kansas, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Washington.

  4. A Night of Comedy With Howie Mandel – For Mature Audiences

    Howie Mandel returns to the Sunrise Theatre stage! He is the producer of many shows with his production company, one of which is the TBS series Deal With It, a hidden camera ambush show where unsuspecting members of the public are secretly dared to pull a prank on their unwitting companions. He also serves as one of the judges on NBC’s summer hit talent competition series America’s Got Talent alongside Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howard Stern. Previously, Howie received an Emmy nomination for Deal or No Deal. Howie’s Emmy Award-nominated animated children series Bobby’s World ran eight seasons on FOX and now appears in syndication six days a week in 65 countries. Howie has done countless comedy specials both on cable and network television. He has also hosted his own syndicated talk show, The Howie Mandel Show, and continues to be a mainstay on the talk-show circuit. Howie also continues to perform as many as 200 concerts a year throughout the US and Canada. Mature audiences only.
