City of Fort Pierce Commission Seeks Members for Advisory Committees
FORT PIERCE, FL – The City of Fort Pierce Commission invites residents, property owners, and business owners to contribute to the city's growth and development by serving on one of its advisory committees. These committees provide vital recommendations to the City Commission on issues that impact the community. Current opportunities include:
- Parking Committee
- Infrastructure Surtax Citizen Oversight Committee
- Board of Examiners of Contractors
- Board of Adjustment
- Sunrise Theatre Advisory Board
Committee Descriptions and Details
Parking Committee
The Parking Committee advises the City Commission on parking-related matters, including resource evaluations and policy recommendations to improve public parking.
- Eligibility: Residents, property owners, or business owners within the City of Fort Pierce.
- Meeting Schedule: Second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall.
Infrastructure Surtax Citizen Oversight Committee
This committee ensures transparency and compliance in the use of Infrastructure Surtax funds. Applicants with expertise in engineering, planning, or finance are encouraged to apply.
- Eligibility: Residents of the City of Fort Pierce.
- Meeting Schedule: Quarterly at 3:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Board of Examiners of Contractors
This board reviews applications and ensures compliance for contractors within Fort Pierce.
- Eligibility: State-licensed contractors in fields such as architecture, engineering, and various trades who have been residents of St. Lucie County for at least two years.
- Meeting Schedule: Second Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall.
Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment reviews variance applications and appeals to ensure development aligns with the City’s regulations and vision.
- Eligibility: Residents of the City of Fort Pierce.
- Meeting Schedule: Monthly at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Sunrise Theatre Advisory Board
This board oversees the financial stability and community engagement of the Sunrise Theatre, serving as a liaison between the theatre and the public.
- Eligibility: Residents of St. Lucie County.
- Meeting Schedule: Monthly at the Sunrise Theatre.
