Fort Pierce Police Department today announced its partnership with Ring to provide area residents with real-time, local crime and safety information through their Neighbors app, which is free to download.
Neighbors by Ring was created to allow residents to monitor neighborhood activity; share crime and safety-related videos, photos and text-based posts; and receive instant safety alerts from neighbors, local law enforcement and the Ring team. The app can be downloaded via iOS/Android at http://download.ring.com/fortpiercepd.
Fort Pierce joins millions of users of the Neighbors network that has been instrumental in catching delivery package thieves, preventing burglaries, and keeping neighborhoods safe.
“I am so honored to have the Fort Pierce Police Department collaborate with Ring,” said Chief Diane Hobley-Burney. “This new technology will enhance the safety of our citizens, strengthen our partnership with our community, and provide an additional tool to assist us in solving crimes.”
Jamie Siminoff, Chief Inventor and Founder of Ring, said: “We’re excited to have the Fort Pierce Police Department join Neighbors to keep their community up-to-date on local crime and safety information. Over the past few years we have learned that, when neighbors, the Ring team, and law enforcement all work together, we can create safer communities. Neighbors is meant to facilitate real-time communication between these groups, while maintaining neighbor privacy first and foremost. By bringing security to every neighbor with the free Neighbors app, the Fort Pierce community can stay on top of crime and safety alerts as they happen.”
