The next complete advisory will be issued by NHC at 11pm with an intermediate advisory at 8pm -

As of 5pm on Saturday, August 1, we have the following update:

A Hurricane Warning remains in effect for St. Lucie County.

Mayor Linda Hudson declared a state of Local Emergency for the City of Fort Pierce as of 5 PM today, Saturday, August 1, 2020. It shall remain in effect for seven (7) days, pursuant to Section 252.38, Florida Statutes, unless terminated earlier, or extended as necessary.

FPUA has restored water service to customers on South Hutchinson Island. Due to a 16” water main break, FPUA is issuing a precautionary boil water notice for all customers from 985 Seaway Drive east and south to the Martin County line.

FPUA water service customers should boil all water beginning Saturday, August 1, 2020, and continue to do so until this notice is rescinded. For updates to this notice, please visit or visit this Facebook page.

FPUA recommends that you follow the Environmental Protection Agency guidelines for boiling water listed below:

  1. Use bottled water if it is available.
  2. If you don’t have bottled water, you should boil water to make it safe. Boil the water for one minute, let it cool and store it in clean containers with covers.
  3. If you can’t boil water, you can disinfect it using household bleach. Add 1/8 teaspoon (or 8 drops) of regular, unscented, liquid household bleach for each gallon of water, stir it well and let it stand for 30 minutes before you use it. Store disinfected water in clean containers with covers.
