Fort Pierce City of Lights Decorating Contest Winners Announced

2017 City of Lights Winners

As the holiday season comes to a close, it is time to announce the winners of the City of Fort Pierce’s 2nd Annual City of Lights Decorating Contest! Community members helped brighten the City by participating in the City of Lights Decorating Contest. Various homes and businesses went above and beyond to make our community look as festive as ever!

Sponsored by Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful, the City of Lights Decorating Contest was designed to encourage the community to decorate and beautify their homes and businesses during the holiday season. The City’s focus was to engage residents to share in the holiday spirit - mission accomplished!
Over 1,600 community votes have been counted and the results are in. Drum roll, please…

  • The winners of the 2nd Annual City of Lights Decorating Contest are:
Single Family Home:  1005 Ohio Avenue
“Merry Christmas! Last year I moved in to my father's house after he passed away. My neighbor told me no one decorated around the neighborhood but that didn't stop me and now more and more neighbors are putting up Christmas lights up and it makes me so happy to be able to share Christmas cheer! My lights go with my music and my deer has been with me since I met my husband sixteen years ago! ”
  • Business: Fort Pierce Yacht Club (700 N Indian River Drive)
“Fort Pierce Yacht Club is sailing into the New Year fully adorned with the spirit of Christmas to share with our friends and neighbors. We have taken on the challenge of building this 35 foot boat to display our eagerness to convey the joy and happiness of the season to our community, with wishes of a better- than- ever 2018. Fort Pierce, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
  •  Apartment/Condo:  649 Beachcomber Lane
“We live in a 4 unit townhouse on South Hutchinson Island. We love decorating and have our townhouse decorated with a light show with music and inflatables.”
The winners will receive $250 and a yard sign to proudly display in front of their home or business.

The 2017 finalists are:  Homes: 1812 S 29th St, 201 Gardenia Ave, 3407 Delaware Ave, 1209 S 12th St, 1113 S 7th St.  Businesses: Fort Pierce Engineering, P.P. Cobb General Store, Whimsy, Mervis Café, Chaney House O’ Flowers.
