Need assistance to purchase a home? The City of Fort Pierce's Home Purchase Assistance Program provides assistance to qualified home buyers for down payment and closing costs associated with purchasing a home.
The home you are purchasing must be located within the city limits of Fort Pierce. All applicants must complete a pre-screening form prior to receiving the application.
Qualified home buyers must not have owned a home for the past 3 years, have a minimum of $500 to contribute towards down payment and meet HUD's income limits (see chart below).

The application process for Owner-Occupied Home Rehabilitation is in accordance with income definitions listed in Section 429.9071, Florida Statutes. All SHIP Units must be owned by households earning below 30% AMI (see chart below).
The total household income of any prospective participant will be determined and verified by staff for compliance with these income limits and verified prior to approval for rehabilitation.
In accordance with State requirements, the City shall monitor the rehabilitation of all SHIP homes receiving SHIP funds.
